Veit V. Dengler

Veit is an an experienced former CEO and COO in the media, tech and entertainment space in EMEA and North America. He specializes in transformation of well-established brands and driving growth in new product areas; he has worked extensively with young organizations as they are scaling. He has high appetites for complexity and what others consider intractable situations.

 

Veit got started in the professional world as a journalist in the Eastern Europe bureau of TIME Magazine, nearly getting himself arrested a few times as popular revolts were toppling Communist regimes across the region.

 

Veit holds a masters degree in commerce from the Vienna University of Economics, where he won the Chamber of Commerce prize for best graduate, and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Kennedy Fellow, a Schumpeter Fellow and a Julius Raab Scholar. In 2022, he was a visiting fellow at Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. He is also a co-founder of NEOS, the centrist party in Austria; he was its founding deputy chairman and general manager in 2012-2013.

Emilie Rauschütz

Emilie has spent the past 10 years studying and working in Politics, Marketing & Communications and Product Management. Her speciality lies in putting the customer experience and user journey at the center using real-time data and multivariate testing. Emilie mostly worked on products and features related to Growth & Acquisition, but has collaborated on projects across all customer-facing areas of the companies she has been at. 

With her experience in start-ups going through hyper-growth (OneFootball, N26, Bitpanda), she’s well accustomed to managing cross-functional teams, fast-paced environments and creating smooth processes for efficient ways of working (Agile Product Management). Emilie completed a BA in International Relations from the University of Sussex and Masters in Journalism at the University of British Columbia and continuously enrolls in further education related to Product, Communications and Digital Innovation. When Emilie is not working, she’s usually trying out some new sport, coaching kids or adding another language to her portfolio on Duolingo.

Derek Alderton

Derek started his involvement in entertainment by paying his way through law school as a radio DJ in Australia. Since he hated being cheerful early in the mornings, he went into I-banking, and later came to UCLA Anderson for his MBA. He joined McKinsey with the hope of working in Aerospace, so naturally ended up becoming responsible for the West Coast Media & Entertainment Practice. After 10 years at McKinsey, Derek has been consulting primarily on Technology, Media and Entertainment related issues. Derek has worked in 26 countries and, one way or another, been involved with almost every technology related innovation in media and entertainment since the mid 90s.

Derek has worked with all the major music companies, and most of the major film/tv studios, game companies, PE funds that focus on TME, leading talent agencies and exhibition (movie theater) companies in the world, as well as with many of the world’s largest TV technology & internet companies

He joined the Faculty at UCLA Anderson in 2005, and now runs the Anderson Strategy Group, teaching courses such as “Entertainment Strategy” and “Entrepreneurship & Venture Initiation”. Derek currently Chairs the Board of a Consumer Electronic company and sits on the Board of an Investment Bank, both of which he helped start.

 

Derek has a Black Belt in Karate. He holds a Commercial pilot’s license and is a qualified Flight Instructor and was the Deputy Chief Pilot of the largest aerobatics school on the U.S. West Coast. Derek holds an M.B.A. (UCLA Anderson), degrees in Law and Economics (University of Sydney) and a Diploma in Finance (Securities Institute of Australia), and qualified as an Australian Chartered Accountant.

Sarah Vickery

Finance, Strategy, Operations  

Sarah is a highly experienced CFO and Strategy Director gained from over 30 years of working within the media sector (radio, digital, magazines and TV), having started her career in pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Sarah has worked with UK, European and US-based
operations.


Sarah’s passion throughout her career has been to be close to the business operations and she has extensive commercial and business development (M&A, post merger integration and NPD) across launch, high growth and established businesses. She has a long track record in strategy development, business planning, and improving financial and business processes.

 

Sarah grew up in the UK and has an MA in economics from Cambridge.

 

Sarah lives in a 400 year old farmhouse with heritage apple orchards near Oxford with her husband. They try to grow as much of their own food as possible and when they are not on “gardening bootcamp”,  they enjoy sailing and hiking along with the occasional trip to the
theatre.

Nicole Laurence

Nicole is a versatile CMO and CCO with 20 years of experience consulting/working with B2B businesses. She has dedicated herself to transforming marketing organisations, developing actionable
commercial strategies, and building distinctive brands for growth.


Nicole started her career as a management trainee in marketing/communications at Daimler AG, moving on to the media industry at EM.TV AG and then started independently consulting in 2006.


Since then, she has worked with multinational brands and corporations such as Purell, Google and TRX, as well as SMBs and start-ups. More recently she has specialized in working with disruptive businesses in biotech and deep-tech, working as a liaison and “translator” between complex science and technology and
commercialization, transforming the brands of exciting start-ups.

 

Nicole was born and raised in the UK and is now based in southern Germany. She is an enthusiastic follower of digital art, a music lover and an average but avid gardener.

Marion Swoboda-Brachvogel

Marion is a renowned expert in corporate finance topics and has been advising management and investors for about 20 years.

 

Marion supports decisionmakers with development of M&A strategies, execution of M&A transactions and complex business valuations. Marion advises companies in a wide range of industries, sizes and life cycles and therefore understands the challenges from start-ups to listed companies.


Marion started her career at McKinsey and has since worked in banking, private equity and corporate finance advisory. She holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School and a degree in Business Administration from LMU Munich. 

 

Marion lives in Vienna with her husband and two children, where she enjoys the wide range of cultural activities and at the same time the proximity to nature.

Hanna Forsström Messerer

Hanna has extensive experience in business development and sales/demand generation with her background working in senior management positions for global corporates in the software and tech industries, such as Adobe and SAP. 

 

Her core competencies range from strategy and pipeline development over process assessment and implementation, as well as restructuring and mentoring of large organizations. Next to her corporate experience, Hanna has consulted and mentored start-up and board leaders facing organizational and commercial challenges, as well as heading diversity and empowerment initiatives. 

 

After growing up in Sweden, Hanna started her career in Munich and founded and ran her own company in the IT-services industry, background that gives her a very clear understanding of the challenges entrepreneurs and leadership face in business. She thrives in fast-paced challenging environments and founds her work on achieving clarity and structure supported by data and focus on the customer. 

 

Hanna lives in Munich with her husband and daughter, owns an enormous dog, loves reading and travelling, when time allows.
